On-U Sound
On-U Sound is Adrian Sherwood's own record label, responsible for loads of great releases. After a period of 4 years of silence, the year 2003 saw a rebirth of the label, with albums by Little Axe, Dub Syndicate, Ghetto Priest and Eskimo Fox. On-U has a new official site since October 2006.
Echo Beach
Lucky coincidence, a combination of historically and geographically significant numbers led the former On-U Sound (African Head Charge , Dub Syndicate and Tackhead) and Crammed Discs (Zap Mama and Taraf De Haidouks) label manager Nicolai Beverungen to finally come into his own with his label Echo Beach. The On-U connection remained, considering releases of Anne Marie featuring Tackhead (Be Tough) and Tackhead's Strange Things plus Bonus.
Select Cuts
Select Cuts is the sister label of Echo Beach and specializes in re-issues. So far Select Cuts has rereleased Keith LeBlanc's debut album Major Malfunction with four additional bonus tracks (2lp and cd). For September/October 2004 are scheduled: Repetition/The Dentist by Keith Leblanc and Tackhead (limited edition 12") and the Keith LeBlanc compilation cd (also limited) Stop the Confusion (Global Interference).
Real World Records
Peter Gabriel's record label Real World Records had the honour to release Adrian Sherwood's debut album Never Trust a Hippy? in 2003. In 2004 the label released Champagne & Grits by Little Axe. The label's next On-U Sound related recording on Real World will be Adrian Sherwood's second album.
Diverse Vinyl
Based in Newport, UK, Diverse Vinyl specializes in great quality vinyl releases of any kind, mainstream or underground (and a lot of dub oriented stuff). The label released Adrian Sherwood's 2003 debut album Never Trust a Hippy? on double vinyl with an outstanding sound quality and great art work. A true collector's item, since it's a limited edition.
Cleopatra Records
The American record label Cleopatra Records major business is independent music. Cleopatra releases new music as well as 'old' music. In 2003 the re-issued Keith LeBlanc's ground breaking debut album Major Malfunction with the original art work an additional bonus track. Please note: the US version is very different from Major Malfunction plus Bonus, released by Select Cuts.
Fat Possum Records
The American blues label Fat Possum Records released Little Axe's third album Hard Grind in the United States.
Green Tea
British Green Tea is a sister label of Pressure Sounds, that has strong links with Adrian Sherwood, since it's run by his dear friend Pete Holdsworth. Green Tea released the 12" Cycles, the first Headfake record, the 10" Zero Zero One by Adrian Sherwood and some other Sherwood related records.
TVT Records
The American record company TVT Records released Tackhead's album Friendly as a Hand Grenade and the 12" Demolition House (Remix). In TVT Records' catalogue you'll also find Nine Inch Nails, who's major status can be partly credited to Adrian Sherwood and Keith LeBlanc, who did a lot of producing and remixing for Trent Reznor and his crew.
