Doug Wimbish recording new album
Doug Wimbish just finished recording his new solo album, successor of his solo debut 'Trippy Notes for Bass'.
Doug describes it as 'a tripped out urban soundtrack'. The title: 'Little Sugar Head Brings New Life To Your TV Dinner'."I'm not chasing any style on this one", says Doug, whilst he's in the London studio with Adrian Sherwood and Skip McDonald. "It's organic, very unique. It's another part of the puzzle, it's me and all the stuff I've been involved in: Tackhead, Headfake, Sugar Hill... But the tracks are all new.
You'll only find two tracks on the album you know already, but totally different: 'Trance' - in the original hardcore version, and 'No Release, No Surrender' - all musical, no lyrics", says Doug. He aims to release the album next fall. Musicians on the album are the usual suspects: a part from Skip and Adrian, Keith LeBlanc has cooperated on it, and so has Pete Lockett and Mick Goldman.
Doug: "It's the most exciting production we did since Skip, Keith, Adrian and I knew each other. We're all feeling it."
