Fire in the heart of Brussels
The festival Couleur Café in Brussels, Belgium, had to be evacuated yesterday (June 30) because of a fire in one of the temporary buildings. 20.000 people had to leave the terrain, but fortunately noone got hurt and Adrian Sherwood could do his DJ set later on.
Of course there was a delay in the program, but the Belgian fire fighters killed the flames rapidly, report Willem Jongeneelen of Dutch music magazine OOR. He describes the DJ set (dominated by drum 'n' bass and reggase) as 'mild'. 'As if Sherwood was adapting the friendly atmosphere of Couleur Café.'
Adrian Sherwood's gig in Brussels was his first this summer on the European main land. He will do another one on the Danish Roskilde Festival on July 6, with Lee 'Scratch' Perry - two legendary reggae producers on one stage!
