Out now: Keith LeBlanc's 'Chess Moves'

Keith LeBlanc has a new LP on Universal - CHESS MOVES Keith has picked out and retrofitted a few raw nuggets of primal, hollerin' and howlin' blues.

Raiding the prodigious vaults at the legendary Chess Records, maverick producer and session drummer Keith LeBlanc has picked out a few raw nuggets of primal, hollerin' and howlin' blues and retrofitted them with some rather tasty post-funk grooves for this enthralling compilation. A brilliantly simple idea, LeBlanc resurrects forgotten classics such as Howlin' Wolf's Moanin' At Midnight and Sugar Boy Crawford's Jock A Mo, dusting off their cobwebs and shaking their thang in a thoroughly postmodern kind of dance - this is the sound of future blues.
