080808: a very special Sharehead surprise!

Sharehead promised a surprise on 080808, and here it is. In a tackhead.com exclusive Sharehead presents the rough mix of one of the tracks Tackhead recorded earlier this year for the Sharehead album.
tackhead - sharehead

I'm afraid of Americans is a track from David Bowie's 1997 album Earthling and was written by Bowie and Brian Eno. Tackhead recorded the track in February 2008 in Vienna, during a tour by Tackhead, Little Axe and Bernard Fowler's Bad Dog.

Tackhead recorded some more material for the Sharehead album during the recent European Mark Stewart tour and the band will soon continue recording in the United States.

Please note you're downloading a rough mix of I'm afraid of Americans, as a treat for the loyal fans. This is NOT the definite version of the track!

Wow!! Can't wait to hear it put through Adrian's soundsystem! This was always one of my favorite Bowie tunes; I noticed that you didn't mention Mr. Reznor's heavy hand in the production (and, as far as I know, songwriting) of the track. NIN always did sound best through Sherwood's decks.

I'm not sure how I feel about Tackhead taking liberties with the final "god is an american" chant - it really gave something to the song, it took it to just the right level of creepy. By sending shoutouts to a whole bunch of nations and ethnic groups instead, the song ends up losing it's vibe and sounding conflicted.
