Re-issue of 'Strange Things' plus bonus tracks
There's a new Tackhead record out! The German label Ecobeach, run by Nicolai Beverungen, has managed to get the publishing right of Tackhead's last studio album 'Strange Things'. He re-issued the so called UK-version of the album, with some bonus tracks.
Tackhead's last studio album, Strange Things has been rereleased on cd in a special edition by the German dublabel Echobeach, that also released the album Be Tough by Anne Marie (backing band: Keith LeBlanc, Skip McDonald and Doug Wimbish). Labelmanager Nicolai Beverungen, a big Tackhead fan, managed to get the rights for the music from EMI. The cd is called Strange Things plus Bonus.
The basis of the album is the so called UK-version of the original Strange Things, released in 1990, that features 4 tracks more than the US-version of the cd (Hyperspace, Re-entry, Steaming, Fix the Machine). On top of those 14 tracks Echobeach added some mixes of 12" that were taken of the album: Dangerous Sex (Melle Mel rap), Dub Sex, Class Rock (Dub me to Death mix) and the vocal version of Repetition that features The Fall's Mark E. Smith. The album ends with the mystery track... Sex Overdubs.
Echobeach used the original art work, and added the sleeves of some of the featured 12"s as well as a beautiful promo picture of the band, taken by Eddie Monsoon. And for those who know nothing about Tackhead: there's a full biography in the booklet.
